Welcome & A Prayer Before Beginning
Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m so happy you’re here. Before we begin, let’s offer up a word to our dear Lord.
Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m so happy you’re here.
I am a persistent Christian. No matter what life throws at me, I find myself consistently turning back to God. This isn’t always easy though. The spiritual life is hard. Join me in my pursuit of knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Before we begin, let’s offer up a word to our dear Lord.
A prayer before beginning:
Heavenly Father, I lift up these words to you. Through the trials of my life, I consistently trust that You are watching over and guiding me. I know You haven’t forgotten me. In my darkest moments, please speak Your holy peace over me. Please calm my restless soul. May these words touch all who need to read them.
Thank you for the gifts you have bestowed on me in this life. Both the ones I have received and the ones I have yet to receive.
In Jesus’ most precious name, Amen.
I am excited to start this walk with you!
In Christ,
Lauren
A Little About Me
I am from the beautiful PNW. Over two years ago, I switched careers from youth ministry to writing. This career change was prompted by a major diagnosis that changed my life: Lyme disease.
When I received my diagnosis, it became clear that I would need to step down from my day job, in order to pursue intense treatment.
And in the midst of my treatment, I discovered writing.
I had always enjoyed writing, but I realized that even if I was stuck at home on the couch, writing was something I could still do. I began writing my first book, which I am just now finishing. And then I launched my blog, The Persistent Christian.
While I have concluded the major part of my Lyme disease treatment, writing is here to stay. I write about my journey with the Lord, the valleys and mountains of life, my Catholic faith, and simply what is on my heart.
Follow along and let’s pursue Jesus together!
The Persistent Christian is free to read. I am so grateful you are here. If you would like to support beyond reading, you can buy me a coffee. :) I spend lots of time in coffee shops!
