“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30, NRSV-CE
Jesus knows exactly what will calm our restless hearts. The God of all Creation knows His people and seeks to give you the rest you need. You simply must allow Him to help you.
Matthew 11:28-30 details a beautiful invitation from Jesus. In this passage, He invites us to come to Him with the things that are weighing us down. He knows what you are carrying, and He invites you to allow Him to help you with it.
Jesus wants to hear what is on your heart.

It may feel difficult to give it to Him, to give up control. However, He invites you to do so. And He will give you the rest you need.
He also will teach you, when you take His yoke. When two animals are yoked together, they must work as a team. Jesus wants to work with you, and help you along in this life.
So whatever challenge you are facing, mountain you must climb, or valley you must descend into, yoke yourself to Jesus. Allow Him to teach you and lighten your load. As Matthew 11:29 says, He is “gentle and humble in heart". He will lovingly show you the way.
When life feels heavy, let Jesus lighten it.
In Christ,
Lauren
