"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit." -Psalm 34:18
My twin brother, Kyle passed away on Sept 16, 2024 after a 25 year battle with epilepsy. He was the strongest person I have ever known, and life has been very different without him. There are no words to explain the kind of grief that comes with the loss of a twin. Yet, my Christian faith reminds me that I will get to see him again one day. Kyle just got to go first! He is not truly gone, but rather experiencing a new existence in perfect glory with God.

On September 20, 2025 I will be walking with the Epilepsy Foundation in honor of the one year anniversary of Kyle's passing. To learn more about the Epilepsy Foundation, visit https://www.epilepsy.com/.
"The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives." -Epilepsy Foundation
More research, awareness, and support is needed for those with epilepsy and their families.
If you are local to the Pacific Northwest, the walk is at Blue Lake Park in Portland, OR on 9/20/25 at 9:00am. It is a one mile walk. Please consider joining Team Kyle or donating to the Epilepsy Foundation in his honor by following this link: https://donate.epilepsy.com/team/15255
There is no registration fee to join the walk. Even if you cannot financially donate, I would love it if you joined Team Kyle and donated your time to walk in his honor. If you are not local to the PNW, I encourage you to read more on the Foundation's website about epilepsy. We need more awareness. We need more research. We need more understanding.
Kyle is in his Father's house. He is walking free from the weight of epilepsy.
In Christ,
Lauren
